'Workouts To Improve Your Tennis Fitness | TENNIS WORKOUT Jeff Salzenstein shares three great workouts to improve your tennis fitness at home. You’ll get stronger, faster, and fitter as you perform one or more of the following tennis fitness workouts. Workout 1: Prisoner Squats Get in a wide base and slightly turn your feet out. Then, take your hands and position them together behind your head. Afterwards, you’ll start to squat down in a control fashion, as you squeeze the shoulder blades together. You’re going to perform this exercise for a total of five minutes, and count the number of repetitions. Workout 2: Burpee And Open Stance Static Hold There are many modified versions of the burpee that you can do, and it’ll depend on your strength level. Therefore, make sure you perform this exercise at a pace that you can handle. Your goal is to do 20 seconds of burpees, and follow it by 40 seconds holding an open stance forehand position. You’ll take a 30 seconds break and repeat the workout five more times. Workout 3: Horse Stance Hold The horse stance means that you’re going to get in a wide squat position. This exercise will help you build a solid strength foundation to improve your open stance forehand. Focus on keeping your shoulders and hands relaxed, as well as you back straight. Aim to hold this position between 30 to 60 seconds. As you become more familiar with this position, the goal is to hold it for five minutes.
