This is a great exercise, especially if you are just starting out, or if you have or have had back problems. Make sure to keep your back straight and head down to keep your spine straight. Reach your hand and opposite leg out on both sides, which will be one rep. I want you to do 4 sets of 25 reps in this exercise. Exercise #2: SUPERMANS. This is another great entry level back exercise. Lay flat on the ground, and have your arms stretched out in a Y position and have your feet spread out shoulder width. Put your head on the ground. At the same time, lift your head, feet, and arms off the ground for a five count then back down for a five count. I want you to again do 4 sets of 25 reps. Exercise #3: PUSH-UP. The first version I want to show you is a knee-push up. If you are a beginner or just getting back into it, this is a great exercise for you. When you are ready to progress, you can lift your knees off the ground and do a normal push-up. I want you to work to get to the point where you can do 4 sets of 25 reps. Exercise #4: SUMO-SQUAT. All you need is one dumbbell to do this exercise. This is a great compound exercise for your legs, hips, and lower back. Center yourself over the dumbbell, make sure to squeeze your core and keep your back straight. Push yourself straight up, make sure to not bend over and curve your back. Aim for 4 sets of 15 reps for this exercise. Exercise #5: DUMBBELL SQUATS. This is a great way to do squats if you do not have a lot of equipment, and you are just starting out. As you squat down, have the dumbbells touch the ground, and push back up. Make sure to keep your back straight throughout the entire exercise. Inhale on the way down and exhale on the way up.
